This page describes two different things: the KarmaDisk website, and the Mac app.
Cloudflare hosts this static website and may process IP addresses and request metadata to deliver the site and to provide security. This website does not deploy analytics, cookies or contact forms. Email to chris@naas.no opens in your own mail app and is not sent by a form on this site. Cloudflare's handling of delivery data is covered by Cloudflare's own policies, not by the app policy below.

Christopher Naas develops KarmaDisk. This policy covers the sandboxed Mac app. KarmaDisk requires no account and does not collect or transmit your files, photos, scan results, identifiers or usage data to the developer. It contains no advertising, analytics SDKs or tracking.
With your permission, the app processes file names, paths, sizes, dates and contents locally to analyze storage, compare duplicates, optimize images and perform the changes you select. It uses Apple’s PhotoKit framework to import your selected files and verify complete imported resources before offering to remove their sources. Existing originals inside Photos remain untouched.
Scan indexes, selected-folder permissions, settings, action history and recovery/import records are stored locally in the app’s sandbox container. Recovery originals may be stored alongside processed files or in the location shown by the recovery record. Records can include file paths, hashes, dates and Photos identifiers. They are retained across launches for access and recovery; there is no automatic retention deadline. No copy is stored on a developer server.
You can forget saved folder permissions in Settings → Access and change Photos permission in macOS System Settings. macOS may retain an active folder grant until the app quits. You control removal of saved originals through the Originals and History workflows. Moving a file to Trash retains it until Trash is emptied. Before deleting local app data or recovery files, restore or export any originals you need; removing records can remove the information needed for recovery.
KarmaDisk does not send data to third-party analytics or advertising services. Apple Photos may synchronize imports through iCloud if you enable iCloud Photos. File changes in other synced folders may also synchronize through your provider. Those services operate under their own privacy policies and settings. Opening an optional support or privacy website uses your browser and that website’s privacy practices.
There is no KarmaDisk server account or remote collection database to delete. For questions, use the support contact on the KarmaDisk App Store listing or the Support link in the app. If you choose to contact support, send only the information you want to share. Future privacy changes will be reflected in an updated policy and effective date.
